Earlier this week, the Democrats took to X en masse to start condemning Hamas. This comes after years of defending Hamas to the public.
On October 8th, 2023, just one day after the barbaric attacks by Hamas terrorists on Israeli civilians, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) excused the attacks as “resistance” and called Israel and “apartheid” government.
“The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance…As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue,” said Tlaib on her official US House page.
Tlaib is apparently unaware that there are Muslim officers in the IDF that regularly give orders to Jewish troops. There were no black officers who gave orders to white troops in apartheid South Africa.
Other Democrat members of Congress such as Cori Bush excused Hamas in numerous statements since the Oct 7th attacks. And these nine Democrats voted against a resolution condeming Hamas:
-Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI)
-Rep. Cori Bush (MO)
-Rep. Jamaal Bowman (NY)
Rep. Andre Carson (IN)
Rep. Al Green (TX)
Rep. Summer Lee (Pa.)
Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (NY)
Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN)
Rep. Delia Ramirez (IL)
Other notable Democrats have excused Hamas violence, including New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Democrats Change Their Tune
After excusing the Oct 7th terrorist attacks since nearly the day they happened, Democrats over the weekend seemed to change their tune as it became clear the Iranian regime was collapsing.
Suddenly, Zohran Mamdani released a statement condeming Hamas:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pivoted to condeming pro-Hamas hecklers who were shouting “we support Hamas” in a Jewish neighborhood.

Almost in unison, the Democrats started coming out against Hamas.

A Desperate Gambit
Do not expect voters to buy the Democrats’ sudden change of heart. They have staked himself out as the anti-Israel party sympathetic to Islamic terrorism for years now. That will not be forgotten in November.
