Vice President JD Vance and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) represent two very different sides of the Republican Party. On the one hand, Vance is a force for America First politics, representing a Republican Party which places the American people and their interests above those of the elites domestic and foreign. On the other hand, Cruz stands for the GOP of old, the pre-Trumpian Republican Party. He represents Wall Street and foreign interests.
This can be seen most clearly by juxtaposing the recent interviews from the two.
While JD Vance was interviewed by Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle, he heavily criticized the political stylings of the pre-Trump GOP. The GOP of the Bushes, Cheneys, and McCains. Vance stated that this old GOP served the interests of Wall Street.
VP on FIRE 🔥
“The American people don’t want stupid wars, and American jobs going overseas, and wide open borders… That was the legacy of the Republican Party that came before Donald Trump.
Let’s actually have a foreign policy where we focus on the interests of American… pic.twitter.com/A4psszLSdt

He asserts that forever wars, outsourcing, and open borders were the policies of the Republican Party until Trump came onto the scene. This is objectively true. Even President Reagan, arguably the most important Republican President between Theodore Roosevelt and President Trump, granted blanket amnesty to millions of illegals. Indeed, President Trump and those strongly in his camp, such as his current VP, are unique among the past few decades’ politicians (from either party) in their staunch support for the interests of the American People.
Meanwhile, Senator Cruz represents the old guard as well as anyone.
In an interview with Stephen A. Smith, Cruz likened criticism of Israel, or America’s support for Israel, to being in favor of Islamism, Communism, and general Anti-Americanism. Cruz is part of the GOP which is obsessed with endlessly assailing the highly influential Tucker Carlson over his America First views.
NEW: Republican Senator Ted Cruz claims Tucker Carlson is going down the path of communism for his position on Israel and will end up like Zohran Mamdani.

Cruz: "Listen, Steven, you and I… pic.twitter.com/4cP9M0jSvr

While Cruz attempts to set himself up for a potential 2028 Presidential run, he is going scorched earth on America First. He claims that Tucker Carlson is going down the same path as radical left NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, an Islamist and self-described communist. Tucker is not an anti-semite, and attempts to smear him as one are an attack on America First as a whole, ultimately meant to imply that VP Vance is also an anti-semite.
Going solely off of these two interviews to compare Vance and Cruz, it is obvious that Cruz seems far more concerned with foreign interests, forever wars, and the values of the elites than he does the American people. Whereas Vance clearly is interested in maintaining the momentum of the MAGA movement and continuing the transformation of the GOP into a truly populist, America First party.
