America’s right wing is divided. The American right has been divided between the Trumpian, populist, America First right and the vestiges of an older, more establishment right which has been spearheaded at times by the likes of the Cheneys, the McCains, the Romneys, and the people who rallied around Ron DeSantis’ aborted run for president in 2025. So in other words, spearheaded by “#NeverTrumpers” and electoral losers.
This decaying GOP old guard has found a new tactic, however, in the country’s most current moral panic: smearing Vice President JD Vance as an antisemite.
This moral panic that has emerged among the right has variously led to vicious and possibly defamatory attacks on Tucker Carlson (one of the most popular media icons within the populist right), Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts (leader of the preeminent populist right think tank), and now Vice President JD Vance (heir apparent to President Trump in 2028).
Largely, these attacks have not been coming from the spiritual leaders of the American Jewish community. Rather, they come from pundits and anti-Trump mouthpieces within the GOP whose last gasp is all about securing support for their anti-Trump election loser of the cycle: Ron DeSantis. Indeed, they want to set the stage for a hypothetical Vance/DeSantis primary battle in a way which is favorable for them and their interests–immaterial to America, immaterial to Israel, and certainly immaterial to the Jewish people.
Many of the loudest voices “decrying antisemitism” and its alleged propagators have come from within the former DeSantis 2024 campaign’s camp. Voices like the Babylon Bee’s Joel Berry, and such DeSantis loving journalists as David Reaboi and Will Chamberlain.
Wherein Tucker comes to the defense of Jewish Mamdani voters.

The shrieks of “antisemite” and “Nazi” are pure virtue signaling and smearing, something which the radical left and liberals have been on to for the better part of the 21st century. By attacking Carlson for interviewing controversial pundit Nick Fuentes, they mean to call Tucker Carlson an antisemite for “platforming” Fuentes, and Roberts an antisemite for defending Carlson, and finally Vance an antisemite for the fact that he has been championed by Carlson and linked to Roberts and Heritage through Project 2025.
And at last they reveal themselves, like I've been predicting:
Nick ->
Tucker ->
Heritage ->
VanceIt's a coup, and they don't care how much anti-Semitism they stir up in the process! https://t.co/65CpN7TZgp

That these so called “principled conservatives” are demanding a test of loyalty–a boycott of all the aforementioned populist propagators and figures, and a pledge to combat “antisemitism” (by donating to their hand-picked establishment candidates, supporting them blindly, and kowtowing to the establishment agenda). Their willingness to destroy their party’s chances of electoral viability in the process is telling.
All of this is to say that they so value an election loser like DeSantis over the future of their own party, nay, their own country, that they are willing to smear a sitting Vice President handpicked by President Trump himself. This is the beginning of the battle for 2028, and they fear J.D. Vance is inevitable so they do not care about going kamikaze on the Republican base to end MAGA for good.
