An Afghan national who entered the United States through the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome program received a 35-year federal prison sentence for producing and possessing child sexual abuse material. A Breitbart report first highlighted the case, which involved victims in Texas and Indiana.
U.S. Senior District Judge Terry R. Means sentenced Badshah Sahi, 21, of Arlington, Texas, to 420 months in prison on September 29. Sahi pleaded guilty in April to federal charges of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material, and his federal term will run after any sentence imposed in his unresolved state proceedings.
Federal officials said Sahi entered the country on September 5, 2021, during Operation Allies Welcome, the emergency resettlement effort that followed the American withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“This dangerous child sex offender was recklessly released into the United States without proper vetting during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 and went on to prey on innocent children both here in North Texas and online,” Homeland Security Investigations official Antwoine Jones said.
“Thankfully, working with our law enforcement partners, we were able to remove him from the local community and ensure he spends the next 35 years behind bars where he won’t be able to harm any more children.”
Authorities arrested Sahi in February 2025 after an investigation found that he had communicated with a 14-year-old girl, picked her up outside her home, and allegedly brought her to other locations where he sexually assaulted her. A search of his phone recovered images and videos involving a prepubescent girl, along with communications with other minors.
Investigators also found that Sahi used Roblox to pressure a 10-year-old child in Indiana to create and send sexually explicit videos. The child disclosed her age during online messages, according to prosecutors. Authorities further said Sahi communicated with a 15-year-old girl in San Marcos, Texas, traveled to meet her, and recorded the sexual assault.
“This lengthy sentence sends a resounding message: Child predators will find no safe harbor in the Northern District of Texas,” U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said. “We will find them and ensure they face the full weight of federal prosecution. Our commitment to protecting children is absolute, and we hope this outcome serves as a clear deterrent to anyone contemplating similar crimes.”
Ultimately, open-ended resettlement programs need to be abolished. Illegal immigration and uncontrolled legal immigration both weaken public confidence in public safety policy, and restoring order requires a system that puts the safety of American communities first. Now is the time to take the initiative and start hacking away at the current system. It serves no American interest whatsoever.
