Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is rapidly gaining momentum since announcing her run for New York Governor, according to a new poll released by Siena.
“In the race against Stefanik, Hochul continues to run very strongly with Democrats, 78-9%, however, Stefanik has now widened her lead among Republicans, 79-11%, up from 68-15% in September, and significantly narrowed the gap among independents, with whom Hochul now leads 40-36%, down from 43-25% in September,” Siena pollster Steven Greenberg said.
Additionally, a poll from the Manhattan Institute shows that Stefanik has a 1 point lead overall against Hochul, while other polls show Hochul in the lead with varying margins.
Hochul is already running into problems dealing with incoming New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Hochul has shown indicators that she is willing to oppose Mamdani on certain priorities, including his plan to give free bus rides to New Yorkers.
“I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes money out of a system that relies on the fares of the buses and the subways. But can we find a path to make it more affordable for people who need help? Of course, we can,” Hochul said during a recent press conference.
Mamdani will not take this lying down. He is trained in the Marxist arts of agitating and will have the community apply pressure to Hochul, using tactics from the Lucifer-influenced organizing bible, Rules for Radicals to put her through the ringer.
If Hochul refuses to buckle to the pressure, the radicalized Democrat base could abandon her. If she folds to the pressure, she loses independents and moderates to Stefanik. Hochul is in a no-win situation. This is a golden opportunity for Republicans to take back New York, and Stefanik is the perfect candidate for this important moment in time.
