Federal authorities confirmed that an illegal alien charged with killing his roommate with a machete in DeSoto County, Mississippi gained entry to the country after the Biden administration released him from the southern border, Breitbart reported.
Authorities took into custody 21-year-old Maberic Javier Reyes this week on murder charges. Prosecutors contend Reyes wielded a machete against his roommate, another illegal alien from Mexico, after the two argued at their shared Southaven, Mississippi home on January 13.
Federal officials revealed that Reyes crossed into the United States as an unaccompanied minor back in 2022 and was subsequently turned loose into the country under policies enacted by the Biden administration.
DHS spokesperson Lauren Bis denounced the killing and the circumstances that made it possible. “This criminal illegal alien is charged in the barbaric murder of his roommate. He violently attacked him with a machete in a brutal killing,” Bis declared.
“This illegal alien would never have been in our country in the first place if it weren’t for the reckless open border policies of the Biden Administration. ICE has lodged a detainer and will work with our law enforcement partners in Mississippi to ensure that this criminal illegal alien can never again roam our streets and threaten anyone else.”
Reyes sits in DeSoto County jail as Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have placed a detainer on him to guarantee his removal from the country following any conviction.
