The Parents Demanding Justice Alliance (PDJA) has issued a pointed open letter to the White House, Department of Justice, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Director Kash Patel, and other federal officials, urging concrete measures to address the improper targeting of American parents who have raised concerns about school policies.
In the letter, PDJA acknowledged recent government statements recognizing that concerned parents faced unwarranted federal scrutiny. However, the group stressed that words and further studies are no longer enough after years of documented harm. Five years have passed since the targeting began, and 18 months under the current administration, according to the organization.
Kelly John Walker, founder of PDJA, emphasized the human toll of the delays, saying: “The unreasonable delay has cost the lives of parents to suicide because they said ‘the government doesn’t care. Were we not persistent, more lives could be lost.”
The letter references the House Weaponization of the Federal Government Committee’s findings from March 21, 2023, and Executive Order 14147 as confirmation that federal agencies were weaponized against U.S. citizens. PDJA argued that the central issue now is accountability, including public apologies and restitution for victims. Anything less, the group said, amounts to further delay and additional harm to those affected.
PDJA detailed its extensive efforts to seek remedies, including compiling and submitting evidence and testimony available at RealFreedomTalk.com/PDJA. From 2023 through 2026, the organization appeared on national media programs, published articles, submitted letters, and presented evidence directly to members of Congress and government officials. In 2025, PDJA hand-delivered a detailed Targeted Parents Dossier to the Department of Justice, Department of Education, and the White House.
In July 2025, the group organized a Capitol Hill press conference sponsored by Representatives Andy Ogles and Andy Biggs to highlight the experiences of targeted parents. The following day, America First Legal released a report documenting communications among DOJ, National School Boards Association, and Biden administration officials — findings that echoed documentation PDJA had submitted years earlier.
Despite these good-faith efforts, PDJA described the government’s response as lacking. In a Jan. 23 meeting at the DOJ, a senior official reportedly told Walker there was “no federal remedy” because the matter was a “state issue,” while parents were again referred to as “terrorists.” The group also criticized the recent Targeted Parents Round Table, noting that documented victims and PDJA leadership were not invited to participate. PDJA plans to deliver a formal petition objecting to the exclusion of those most directly affected.
“Trust is rebuilt through transparency, accountability, restitution, and humility,” the letter states. “Trust is rebuilt when institutions acknowledge mistakes, apologize to victims, and take meaningful corrective action.”
“Bring us to the table or face us in court,” Walker said. “Do the right thing, and you will find willing partners among the very people who have spent years seeking justice.”
The letter asserts that the American people are forgiving and that many targeted parents remain prepared to move forward if the government provides honesty and concrete steps toward restoration. PDJA maintains that the families suffered financial, professional, reputational, and personal harm after being labeled potential threats for participating in school board meetings and exercising parental rights.
The organization continues to press federal officials to move beyond reports and rhetoric toward meaningful relief and institutional reforms.
