Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) claimed Democrats blocked a motion for UC (Unanimous Consent) to bring the Epstein files release to a vote.
“Just left the House floor, and I tried to do a UC, unanimous consent, tried to get the Epstein files, get it straight to the floor, cut out all this nonsense,” said Burchett. “And, you know, and the Democrats blocked it, oddly enough. Now, here they’ve had it for four years, and obviously, if there’s something there about Trump, they would have released it. And now they’re all ‘let’s get it out, let’s get it out.’”
The motion would not have released the files but forced the House to vote on them. Congressional leaders are restricted by House rules from revealing which party blocked Burchett’s unanimous consent request. However, Burchett was adamant that it was the Democrats who were responsible.
“The Democrats objected to the unanimous consent. Nobody has written a story about that. That is stunning to me,” Burchett said.
The Democrats have claimed Trump knew about Epstein’s activities while ignoring the fact that Trump asked Epstein to resign from Mar-a-Lago and Ghislaine Maxwell to end the abuse. This is corroborated in the same emails the Democrats released:
“Trump said he asked me to resign,” said Epstein in an email to Michael Wolff. “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
Further, President Trump assisted Bradley Edwards, who represented the victims, with their investigation in 2009.
“I talked to President Trump back in 2009 and several times after that. He didn’t think it was a hoax then. In fact, he helped me. He got on the phone, he told me things that were helping our investigation,” said Edwards over the summer.
The American people want answers. The Democrats are trying to deflect from the fact that they lost the government shutdown battle by implying President Trump committed crimes with Epstein. Congress and President Trump should release all documents and end this unnecessary charade.
