Member of European Parliament Irene Montero announced in a video last week that she hopes “replacement theory” (her words) happens in Spain to stop the “far right.”
“I hope for ‘replacement theory,’ I hope we can sweep this country of fascists and racists with immigrants,” Montero said in a video circulating on X.
Montero is a far-left Spanish politician who served in Spanish Parliament from 2016 to 2023. She also served as Minister of Equality in Spain from 2020 to 2023. Montero is a member of Podemos, a radical leftist political party that has only 4 seats in the Spanish Congress of Deputies and zero seats in the Spanish Senate. She is also a member of the Communist Youth Union of Spain.
Coming into the midterms, US Democrats have a similar plan for the United States. Recently, a U.S. District Court struck down President Trump’s executive order to require proof of citizenship to vote, claiming that the President did not have the authority to change federal election procedures.
Twitter Commentator Cynical Publius laid out what our goals must be for the midterms this year.
“If the GOP loses the midterms, Trump will be impeached twice weekly and this will consume his Presidency–he will get nothing accomplished from 2026 till 2028. If you voted Trump in 2024, it is imperative that you turnout to vote GOP in 2026, even if you dislike your GOP candidates. The nation is at stake. VOTE!” he wrote.
