President Trump is putting the NATO military alliance on notice after some NATO leaders suggested that the U.S. would be booted from the alliance if they pursued Greenland too aggressively.
In a Truth Social post from Wednesday, President Trump stated that Russia and China “have zero fear of NATO” without being backed up by U.S. military might. President Trump also said he doubted that “NATO would be there for us if we really needed them,” while adding that “we will always be there for NATO, even if they won’t be there for us.”
Without my involvement, Russia would have ALL OF UKRAINE right now… Everyone is lucky that I rebuilt our military in my first term, and continue to do so,” President Trump said.
President Trump’s words echo those of White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller. Miller said: “The US is the power of NATO. For the US to secure the Arctic region to protect and defend NATO and NATO interests, obviously Greenland should be part of the US. And so that’s a conversation that we’re going to have as a country. That’s a process we’re going to have as a community of nations.”
The Trump administration is certainly correct that NATO is nothing without the U.S. involvement. But perhaps that would not be such a bad thing. NATO has only spread death and destruction throughout the world and serves no practical purpose now that the Cold War is over. It might be time to close the door on NATO for good and end this obsolete alliance dominated by globalists.
