After the brutal and disgusting murder of Turning Point USA Founder and Patriot Charlie Kirk, hundreds of teachers and professors have rightfully lost their jobs for celebrating or justifying the shooter, Tyler Robinson.
However, what should come of college students, especially those acting in a sanctioned or official capacity, who do the same?
While leftist politicians and celebrities have had a range of reactions to Kirk’s murder, varying from borderline celebrations to blaming President Trump (or in Jimmy Kimmel’s case, both,) many have also had the brain capacity to at least act outwardly respectful and condemn the political violence.
Yet, university campuses–often known as breeding grounds for left wing radicalism–which are in charge of producing future generations of success, have been approaching Charlie Kirk’s death differently. The best and brightest in charge of educating our youth appear to lack the brain power to realize that celebrating the death of one of America’s premier free speech advocates would not serve them well.
Hundreds of teachers and professors have been fired for praising the murderer, condemning Kirk, and otherwise being vile psychopaths. Students, however, have not gotten the memo it seems.

In an alleged leaked GroupMe chat, leaders from University of Tennessee’s Progressive Student Alliance—a registered student organization on the campus—were seen allegedly celebrating Kirk’s assassination, advocating for the shooter, and hoping for Kirk’s death in the moments after the bullet struck him.
Disgusting comments such as “Thoughts and prayers for the bullet” and “I hope the f— dies” as well as celebration of the initial suspected shooter were found in the leaks.
The irony of leftists trying to hide behind free speech for the cancelling and firing of these people, is also entirely lost on the liberal masses. After over a decade of cancelling conservatives, libertarians, and moderates for old Tweets and for the most mundane of opinions counter-signaling the radical left, that was insufficient for them. Political violence is now their solution.
Killing a free speech advocate who dedicated his life to using reason to peacefully debate those he disagreed with, and then hiding behind free speech to celebrate his death, is so utterly lacking in self-awareness that it would be humorous if it wasn’t so vile.
Should conservatives still be the better people?
