How to sign up as an author

Anyone can create an author account — no invitation needed. Once your account is approved by an editor, you can log in and start publishing.

1. 1Go to https://populist-sentinel.base44.app/register
2. 2Enter your email address and choose a password, then confirm the password.
3. 3Complete the verification step (a one-time code is sent to your email).
4. 4After you verify, your account is created. New authors submit articles for review — an editor approves them before they go live.
5. 5You only sign up once. After that, use the Log in page each time you return.

How to log in (after your account is set up)

1. 1Go to https://populist-sentinel.base44.app/login
2. 2Enter the email address and the password you set when you signed up.
3. 3Click Sign In. You’ll be taken to the home page.
4. 4Use the Admin/Review menu at the top right to reach the article tools.

How to publish a new article

1. 1Log in (see above).
2. 2Go to https://populist-sentinel.base44.app/SubmitArticle
3. 3Confirm the Author name (auto-filled from your account), enter the Article Title, an optional Subtitle, and write the full Article Content in the editor.
4. 4Add a cover image: upload your own, paste an image URL, or click Generate to have one created for you.
5. 5Click Publish Article (or Submit for Review if your account requires approval).
6. 6You’ll see a confirmation. Click Submit Another Article to write another.

Formatting your article in the editor

The Article Content box is a full rich-text editor. Use the toolbar at the top of the box to format your writing:

• •Bold, Italic, Underline, and Strikethrough — highlight text and click the style.
• •Headings — use the heading dropdown to create section titles (Heading 1, Heading 2).
• •Lists — bulleted or numbered lists to organize steps or points.
• •Alignment — align text left, center, or right.
• •Blockquote — set off a quotation in a highlighted style.

Adding images to the article body

1. 1Place your cursor in the text where you want the image.
2. 2Click the Image button in the toolbar.
3. 3Choose a file from your computer and upload it, or paste an image URL.
4. 4The image appears inline in your article where you placed it.
5. 5To replace or remove an image later, click it in the editor and delete or re-insert it.

Adding a video to the article body

1. 1Place your cursor where you want the video to appear.
2. 2Click the Video button in the toolbar.
3. 3Paste the share link for a YouTube or Vimeo video (e.g. https://youtube.com/watch?v=...).
4. 4The video embeds in your article and readers can play it inline.

Adding links

1. 1Highlight the text you want to turn into a link.
2. 2Click the Link button in the toolbar.
3. 3Paste the destination URL (including https://) and save.
4. 4The highlighted text becomes a clickable link in the published article.

Set up your author byline (do this once)

On the Submit Article page, click the Your Author Profile bar at the top to expand it. Add your title/role, a short bio, a profile photo, and your X/Twitter link, then click Save Profile. This byline appears at the bottom of every article you publish.
